One of the Scotch Highland cows at Borogove Farm had a calf in the spring.
A friend of farmer's wife wanted to give a special gift to her friend, and decided it must be a furry Scotch Highland calf.
The lady friend of farmer's wife's friend, who was to get the calf, lived in the country and had all kinds of animals including dogs, cats, horses, doves, peacocks and even an Emu!
Farmer's wife's friend thought the little calf would be a perfect addition to this strange family.  There was only one problem.  farmer's wife's friend had a white cadillac with white leather seats to match the little white Maltese dogs that lived at farmer's wife's friend's house.   Well, farmer's wife's friend thought and thought about how she would get this calf to her friend when all she had to drive was a white cadillac that matched her little white Maltese dogs.  She thought for a long time, and then she remembered that the little Scotch Highland calf was no bigger than a Russian Wolfhound or an Irish Wolfhound, and she solved the problem.
Farmer's wife's friend came to Borogove Farm one day with a big dog cage sitting on a sheet in the back seat of her white cadillac with the white leather seats.  Farmer's wife helped her friend get the little calf into the big dog cage, and the little calf went to live at a wonderful place in the country and lived to be a very old cow.  Farmer's wife's friend was very happy she was able to find a way to take the gift of the furry little calf to her friend.
