Su Lee was a mixed oriental cat who showed up at Borogove Farm one day.  She hung out on the back porch and in the barn catching a few mice here and there. She was not really much of a mouser.  She was actually just looking for a few free meals and a place to stay.
It became obvious that Su Lee was going to have babies.  One day the farmers wife looked out her back door, and there laying on a brown paper sack in front of the door where no one would miss them were three new born kittens and no mother.   Su Lee had with some thought  placed the new kittens on something, but it was obvious that she left the babies where the farmer's wife could find them and then she was off to find something more interesting.
The farmer's wife called and called......here kitty kitty kitty......Su Lee......here kitty kitty.  Finally Su Lee appeared and the farmer's wife asked if these were her babies.
Su Lee looked at the new borns for a few minutes and looked at the farmer's wife as though she didn't know whose babies were on the brown paper sack.   After a little scolding by the farmer's wife, who said she wasn't going to take care of Su Lee's kittens, Su Lee laid down and starting nursing the babies on the brown paper sack until the farmer's wife found a nice bed with warm blankets for her family.  Sometimes mommy's and daddy's aren't very good parents and expect others to care for their children.
Su Lee wasn't a very good mother and tried to push her responsibility as a parent off onto someone else, but lucky for her there was a caring farmer's wife who was there to help her.
Sometimes mothers and fathers need a little help to be better parents.
