Elderberry is the patriarch of scarecrows, Strawberry goes to Elderberry for advice. He is always willing to share the benefit of his vast knowledge and wide experience. He is a well traveled observer of not only nature at work, but also the interactions of humans in their communities. He is a firm believer that youth form values very early in life. These values of right and wrong shape the conscience that will guide the future.
